Dear Friends,

There has been some confusion in recent days about how seniors who don’t typically file tax returns will receive their economic impact payments. Yesterday, the Treasury Department and IRS issued a press release clarifying that Social Security beneficiaries will have their economic impact payments automatically deposited into their bank accounts via direct deposit or by paper check. The IRS will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 and Form RRB-1099 to distribute economic impact payments to Social Security recipients. If you have any questions regarding this development, please call my office at (559) 733-3861.

In case you missed it, here’s a story detailing efforts, including by my office, to help Central Valley families and small businesses navigate the Coronavirus outbreak.
