News from Representative Tom Emmer

Dear Friend,

Yesterday we celebrated Presidents Day, in honor of our first President George Washington's birthday. Our nation has been shaped by the leaders we've chosen, and no one shaped this country more than General Washington. He ensured we have a country where government has enough power to function, but sufficient limits to allow freedom to flourish.

Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District has given me the opportunity to take our Minnesota values to Washington, and I am grateful for the opportunity. Hundreds of years later, our Founding Fathers' hopes of prosperity for this country live on, and I am honored to help carry out their legacy with all of you.

Upcoming Town Hall Meeting: February 21st

I announced another town hall last week. I hope to see many of you there on Friday, February 21 at the Foley City Hall. Visit my website here for more information. Keep up with what we're doing here in Minnesota and in Washington on Twitter and Facebook

National Entrepreneurship Week

This week marks National Entrepreneurship Week! It's a great time to start a business in Minnesota. Minnesota is poised to be a capital of innovation. In addition to our 17 Fortune 500 companies, we have countless startups and have attracted venture capital totaling almost $500 million!

From passage of USMCA to the benefits of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, America is experiencing one of the strongest economies ever.

To provide more help to entrepreneurs, I introduced the Main Street Growth Act. To get more companies to go public and allow for everyone to share in America’s booming markets, the Main Street Growth Act would serve as an on-ramp to larger public exchanges by creating “venture exchanges.” These exchanges would be comprised of small and emerging growth companies, and concentrate trading in order to propel these innovative startups to become some of the largest employers in the future.

I'm proud of the progress we're making and the economic growth we're experiencing. For those of you starting a business, visit the Small Business Administration's website here. They have a district office in Minnesota to assist you with funding, business plans, and other useful resources. My office may also be able to assist you. Visit my grants page to learn more!
