News from Representative Tom Emmer

Join me at the Cokato City Hall for a town hall meeting at 7PM. I look forward to hearing your priorities and concerns!

Dear Friend,

I am glad to be back home this week to enjoy the rising temperatures with my fellow Minnesotans! I look forward to seeing many of you on my travels throughout the district, or at my town hall tonight!

Last week in Washington, I took to the House Floor to call for improvements to U.S. Highway 12. This Highway has caused too many tragic and senseless deaths in Minnesota. Without massive improvements, these tragedies will continue. I am committed to advocating for these improvements, and have invited Secretary Chao of the Department of Transportation to visit and see firsthand the desperate need for life-saving improvements to U.S. Highway 12.

Last week, I also reintroduced my Firearm Due Process Protection Act, to allow citizens the recourse they deserve when denied their right to purchase a firearm due to government error. Every year, due to mismatched fingerprints and inaccurate criminal history records, law-abiding gun purchasers are denied their Constitutional right. They deserve due-process, and my legislation would provide that. Read more about the Firearm Due Process Protection Act here.

Until next week...

The main role of a Representative is to serve – more specifically, to offer constituent service. Among our excellent staff, we have a number of individuals who specialize in casework. If you are unable to get an answer from a federal agency in a timely manner or feel like you have been treated unfairly, my office caseworkers may be able to resolve the problem or get you the information that you need.

To make these services more accessible, our district staff holds mobile office hours throughout Minnesota's Sixth District. Call my district office at 763-241-6848 if you have any questions!
