News from Representative Tom Emmer

Dear Friend,

Just like that, another week is over, and it certainly was a productive one in our nation’s capital.

I met with Noah, a young constituent who swung by my office to talk about civic engagement in Minnesota,

I participated in meetings to discuss the needs for tax reform,

And, I joined the State Department and some of my fellow Minnesotans to show our support for bringing the World’s Expo to the North Star State in 2023.

One Giant Step
This week, the House passed the Budget to get us one step closer to finally reforming our nation’s tax code. Next week, the text of the tax bill is expected to be introduced and Republicans are committed to bringing relief to middle-class families across the country.

We aim to reduce the tax brackets to help families get ahead.

We plan to increase the Child Tax Credit to alleviate the cost of raising children

And we propose protecting benefits so that more families have the ability to purchase a home.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills are going to be crucial to the future of this nation. That is why I think it’s important that we highlight the need to encourage the development of these critical skills. For the third year, my office is participating in the Congressional App Challenge. The deadline to submit apps for the challenge is just a few days away, so be sure to get yours in by November 1st! More details can be found here.

Until next week . . .
