Senior
Fall
Prevention
Training
Did
you
know
that
one
in
four
people
aged
65
or
older
has
a
fall
each
year?
Senior
citizens
are
especially
susceptible
to
fall-related
injuries,
which
is
why
our
office
is
hosting
a
Fall
Prevention
Training,
in
partnership
with
the
health
professionals
of
NewYork-Presbyterian.
Our
training
will
include
ways
to
prevent
falls,
identify
hazards,
and
how
to
properly
get
up
if
a
fall
occurs.

We
are
excited

partner
with
the
NYC
Department
of
Housing
Preservation
and
Development
(HPD)
to
bring
HPD
educational
resources
directly
into
our
district.
HPD
is
responsible
for
developing
and
maintaining
the
city's
stock
of
affordable
housing,
by
preserving
and
protecting
the
quality
and
cost
of
housing.
Come
to
our
District
Office
where
we
will
be
joined
by
employees
from
HPD,
available
to:
- Provide
one-on-one
education
and
assistance
through
the
Council
Member's
office;
- Work
with
tenants
individually
about
how
to
file
a
complaint
and
what
to
expect
from
the
complaint
process;
- Discuss
open
violations
with
either
tenants
or
property
owners;
- Discuss
options
for
violation
removal;
- Provide
property
registration
assistance;
and
- Make
referrals
on
issues
such
as
affordable
housing,
foreclosures,
and
tenant
harassment.
