News from Representative Smucker

Thank you for subscribing to my E-Newsletter! This week I want to update you on my visits across the district and share some casework successes in the Smucker Service Corner.

I enjoy hearing from you and responding to your questions via email, phone calls and letters. If you'd like to share your concerns or opinions with me, or if you have questions about legislation or specific votes, you can send me an email here.  Since taking office two years ago, I've responded to more than 180,000 contacts from you.

To stay up-to-date on my work in the district and Washington, be sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter. You can also check out my YouTube page where there are 100+ videos, many of which are direct responses to your questions.

I'm also very proud of the help my office has been able to provide constituents. More than 4,400 individuals and families have been helped, and more than $4,484,327 has been returned to constituents.  If you need help with a federal agency, my office can help cut through Washington's red tape and bureaucracy. I encourage you to contact my district office at (717) 393-0667 and at (717) 969-6133 if you need assistance.

                                        Back in the District

It is great to spend real time in the 11th District. During August Congress is in recess – but that doesn’t mean I’m not working!   I’ve been hitting the road to meet with constituents, learn about non-profit organizations, and tour businesses across the 11th District. Be sure to stay up-to-date by following me on Facebook and Twitter

Did you know that L&S Sweeteners in Leola processes over 500 million pounds of sugar and molasses each year? They help make our community a sweet place to live!

Spring Grove is known for its strong work ethic and great manufacturing— so it was great to visit Pixelle Specialty Solution’s facility and learn more about the paper business.

I also enjoyed taking questions from members of the New Holland Kiwanis Club at their weekly meeting and providing an update on everything happening in Washington.

We also had a great visit with GSM Roofing, a third-generation family-owned company, visiting its headquarters in Ephrata and a job site in Lititz.  Appreciated the great discussion on ways to address challenging workforce issues.

I also had the privilege of joining PA State Rep. Kate Klunk and State Senator Doug Mastriano in visiting several Hanover businesses throughout the day. We stopped at Riley Welding & Fabricating, Legacy Athletics, Merlin's Coffee Company and Hanover Foods. Thanks for the great visits and allowing me to spend time with your employees!

It was great to be with TechFire225 Robotics Competition Team for their FIRST Robotics Competition Capital Cup held at Dallastown High School. These brilliant students from York County are using their STEM skills in robotics and bested the competition from four other states to win the championship. Congratulations!

I enjoy spending time with constituents, talking about their concerns and always learn a lot -- if you have a business, school, or organization you’d like to invite me to visit, please send me an email HERE.
