News from Representative Donald Norcross

L’Shanah Tovah

Friend,

As you ring in the Hebrew year 5778 with your loved ones, I want to provide you with an update on ways I have been standing up for Israel, our democratic ally in the Middle East, in Congress and fighting against anti-Semitism.

Holding Iran, Russia & North Korea Accountable

Iran poses a serious threat to both America and Israel. I voted for the Iran, Russia and North Korea Sanctions Act in the House of Representatives because the hostile regimes in Iran and North Korea must never become armed with nuclear weapons.

In Congress, we must always take actions to keep Americans safe and must never turn a blind eye to governments that threaten our country. Whether it’s attempting to undermine American democracy or unlawfully pursuing ballistic missile tests, these three governments deserved to be sanctioned. Read more about my vote here.

Supporting Israel During National Defense Debates

I have consistently called for close military ties between the U.S. and Israel and continued to do so during the National Defense Authorization Act debates this year.

We’re providing $705 million – including a $500 million increase – to Israel for co-production and development of missile defense systems.

Investing in Community Safety

Congressman Norcross and Senator Booker
call for security funds for South Jersey

Following threats to South Jersey religious and community centers early in the year, I called for increased funds and the State made $1 million available

I will continue to request resources from the federal, state and local government when there are threats in South Jersey.

Condemning Hate in America

On a final note, the hate and violence on display in Charlottesville, VA sickens me to my core and, as your representative in Congress, I spoke out swiftly and unequivocally against white supremacy.

Hate, violence, bigotry, racism and anti-Semitism have no place in our country.

In times of divisiveness, I urge us all to remember the words of Martin Luther King Jr. when he said, 'Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.'

It is with that idea of love and togetherness that I wish you a Happy New Year – and vow to continue fighting for you in Congress.

Sincerely,

Donald Norcross
Member of Congress
