News from Representative Larson

Dear Friends,

I had a great District Work Period last week! Here is a quick recap of what I was up to:

  • I kicked off the week by helping to cut the ribbon on a world-class innovation lab at the United Technologies Research Center in East Hartford. This state of the art facility will help Pratt & Whitney create jet engines that are quieter, more efficient, and cleaner for our environment.Image
  • As the Chairman of the Social Security Subcommittee, I have teamed up with other members of the Ways and Means Committee to protect and expand Social Security. Last week, I joined Rep. Terri Sewell in Montgomery, Alabama for a town hall to help elevate this conversation on a national level and to discuss our bill, the Social Security 2100 Act. Social Security touches the lives of every American and we are working to ensure the program remains solvent beyond this century!
  • On Monday I held a public forum at the Elmwood Community Center in West Hartford to talk about the future of Social Security. It was great to discuss my bill the Social Security 2100 Act which protects and expands benefits for current and future generations.

Please stay tuned to my Facebook and Twitter pages to keep up to date on what’s happening in Washington. I look forward to seeing you in the District soon.

John B. Larson
Member of Congress
