Weekly Newsletter

This week, due to the increased production and distribution of vaccine and the incredible work being done by federal, State and local partners, we were able to announce an exciting update to Nevada’s vaccination timeline.

On March 22, we will open up availability to all Nevadans 16 and older with underlying health conditions -- statewide. Vaccination opportunities for this group of Nevadans will be available through the Retail Pharmacy Program.

Local health authorities and counties will continue to vaccinate eligible Nevadans within the Frontline / Essential Workforce Lane, while also holding events for the general population. If you are eligible in your county now, we encourage you to make your appointment as soon as you can.

And that’s not all. Beginning on APRIL 5, all Nevadans 16 and older will be eligible to schedule vaccination appointments statewide.

I want to be clear – opening up the eligibility on April 5 does not mean every Nevadan will be able to make an appointment and get a vaccine on April 5. Availability of vaccine and appointments will still be dependent on the allocation of doses we receive from the federal government.
And while we open up eligibility, we will also use every resource we have, including any federal support, to scale up efforts to reach every community and remove barriers to access for our most vulnerable and at highest risk of severe illness due to COVID-19.

For many of these populations, we know we need to meet them where they are at. We have started to see this approach result in success in many of our communities, and we look forward to expanding these efforts to every corner of our State.

Thank you -
Governor Steve Sisolak

Make a Plan: Knowing How and Where to Get Your Vaccine

Nevada is receiving small, weekly allocations of COVID-19 vaccine from the federal government which are being provided to counties statewide to vaccinate our seniors and prioritized occupational groups. We know it is difficult, but we urge Nevadans to be patient and make a plan to get vaccinated when the time comes.

Each county is moving at its own pace and more information on when, where, and how to be vaccinated can be found at NVCOVIDFighter.org  To schedule your vaccine appointment over the phone & receive county-specific information call our recently launched COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center at 1-800-401-0946.

Image
The Governor’s Office of Energy (GOE) is pleased to release a status report on the Nevada Electric Highway, a partnership with electricity providers and host sites across the state to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure on Nevada’s five major highway corridors: I-15, I-80, US 95, US 93 and US 50. With transportation accounting for 36 percent of Nevada's total greenhouse gas emissions, transportation electrification is critical in reaching greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets outlined in the Nevada Climate Strategy.
EV charging is widely available in Nevada's urban centers, but for EV driving to and through Nevada to be possible, these five primary corridors required infrastructure support from GOE and its partners. You can view the full report here.  View the report here.
