Dear Friend,

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I am working to keep our community aware of relevant and helpful information and resources made available by the federal government. Recently, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced an update that will help many veterans receive an automatic Economic Impact Payment.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) partnered with the Treasury Department and VA to ensure veterans and their beneficiaries who receive Compensation and Pension (C&P) benefits from the VA will receive a $1,200 Economic Impact Payment with no additional action required. VA beneficiaries who have internet access are encouraged to use the IRS’ non-filers payment information tool to provide their basic information to receive their payment. This is not required, and veterans who choose not to use this tool will still receive their payment. The timeline on the distribution of these payments is still being determined.

This is an important step to provide our bravest men and women with much-needed economic relief. Many VA recipients are not required to file tax returns, and this update simplifies the process of receiving an Economic Impact Payment for our veterans.

Please know that during this trying time, my team and I stand ready to serve our community. For helpful resources to help you and your family navigate through this public health emergency, please see here. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our offices via the numbers below.
