Dear Friend,

With all K-12 schools across the Commonwealth of Virginia closed for the remainder of the academic year, I wanted to direct you and your family to free online learning resources. These websites contain helpful modules and lesson plans that will help students continue to learn during school closures.

WHRO Public Media

Recently, WHRO announced they will be providing access to 25 high school courses for all students and teachers. These classes range from Algebra II to Virginia and United States Government. As a partner with the Virginia Department of Education, WHRO hosted Virtual Virginia, which offers online courses to students across the Commonwealth. Click here for lessons and to learn more.

Go Open VA

Go Open VA provides free and open online education resources for students. Many school districts, such as Norfolk City Public Schools and Hampton City Public Schools, post lesson plans, learning packets, and more.

PBS LearningMedia

PBS LearningMedia is a free, national resource that offers materials designed to complement classroom assignments. It offers lessons and modules for all K-12 students. See here to view PBS LearningMedia.

National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation has collected resources from around the web on a wide range of STEM topics. These include engineering, computing, physics, biology, chemistry, and astronomy. Each topic has its own page with a collection of links to curriculum, guides, and activities.

Please know that my team and I stand ready to assist our community during this time of need. For helpful guidance to keep you and your family safe, please click here. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our offices via the phone numbers below.

Sincerely,
