Dear
Friend,
Forty-nine
people
were
killed
and
over
fifty
more
injured
recently
in
the
Orlando
terror
attack,
now
the
deadliest
terror
attack
on
U.S.
soil
since
9/11.
CIA
Director
John
Brennan
testified
last
week
to
Congress
saying
the
Administration’s
efforts
have
“not
reduced
the
group's
terrorism
capability
and
global
reach.”
It's
obvious:
our
strategy
against
ISIS
is
failing
and
we
cannot
afford
more
of
the
same.
Last
week,
I
joined
Greta
Van
Susteren
on
Fox
News
to
lay
out
a
better
strategy
for
stopping
ISIS
and
keeping
Americans
safe.
It
will
take
resolve
and
leadership,
but
with
the
right
approach,
we
can
win.
Watch
my
interview
below.

Another
A-10
win
Without
needed
wing
upgrades,
nearly
50
A-10
aircraft
are
at
risk
of
premature
retirement
over
the
next
few
years,
and
more
after
that.
To
help
stop
this,
I
successfully
offered
an
amendment
last
week
that
provides
$100
million
for
new
A-10
wing
re-fittings
to
the
House's
annual
defense
funding
legislation.
This
legislation
passed
the
House
with
strong
bipartisan
support.
Hear
me
talk
about
my
amendment
just
before
voting
on
its
passage
in
the
House.

You
can
also
read
my
op-ed
about
why
we
need
an
A-10,
F-35
fly-off
and
our
provision
that
requires
one
HERE.
Never
miss
an
opportunity
to
support
the
A-10
Last
week,
I
participated
in
the
Congressional
Women's
Softball
Game
to
support
fighting
breast
cancer.
I
joined
a
bipartisan
group
of
House
and
Senate
lawmakers
to
take
on
women
members
of
the
press,
who,
sadly,
defeated
our
team
in
a
competitive,
hard
fought
game.
Nevertheless,
it
was
a
great
effort
by
all,
and
for
a
great
cause!

Fighting
for
seniors
Before
I
came
to
Congress,
a
resident
from
Green
Valley,
Loren
Thorson,
along
with
the
Green
Valley
Council,
told
me
about
a
little
known
tax
increase
contained
in
the
Affordable
Care
Act
that
will
hit
seniors
in
2017.
Loren
and
his
colleagues
had
dedicated
years
to
raising
awareness
and
stopping
this
tax
hike,
something
seniors
can
little
afford.
Building
on
their
work,
last
year,
I
introduced
legislation
with
bipartisan
support
to
halt
this
tax
increase
on
seniors
and
roll
it
back
on
middle
class
families.
Sadly,
Loren
passed
away
this
March,
but
his
efforts
carry
on.
Last
week,
the
House
Ways
and
Means
Committee
passed
my
bill,
the
Halt
Tax
Increases
on
the
Middle
Class
and
Seniors
Act,
clearing
a
major
hurdle
for
this
legislation
in
Congress.
Presenting
to
Green
Valley
constituent
Loren
Thorson
Congressional
Record
comments
recognizing
his
efforts
to
protect
seniors.
Thorson
passed
away
on
March
8,
2016.
Senior
Scam
Forum
Scammers
are
consistently
looking
to
target
seniors.
Anyone
can
become
a
victim,
which
is
why
I'm
hosting
a
Senior
Scam
Forum
on
July
1st
in
Green
Valley
to
raise
awareness
of
scams
and
promote
ways
seniors
can
defend
themselves.
The
event
will
feature
representatives
from
the
Pima
County
Sheriff's
Department's
"Scam
Squad,"
the
Pima
Council
on
Aging,
AARP,
and
more.
