News from Representative Dunn

Dear Friend,

This week, the Second District was devastated by Hurricane Michael. Many of our friends and family in the counties that were hit by the hurricane have lost everything. We continue to pray for all those who lost loved ones and those who haven't yet made contact with their loved ones.

If you are still attempting to contact a loved one, please consider filling out this online form created by the Florida Department of Heath.

If you would like to volunteer your efforts the Red Cross and Volunteer Florida have an abundance of resources to help our neighbors. At this time, I urge you to heed the warnings of local emergency workers and law enforcement as rescue and recovery efforts continue. The Florida Department of Emergency Management is working around the clock with local first responders, law enforcement, the Florida National Guard, and various military entities to keep us safe.

On October 10, 2018, President Trump issued a major disaster declaration for the State of Florida, ordering federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts to areas affected by Hurricane Michael. This Major Disaster Declaration triggers the release of federal funds to help people and communities in the wake of Hurricane Michael.

All individuals and businesses who were impacted by Hurricane Michael should apply for FEMA assistance. Please call 1-800-621-3362 or visit to apply. Individual assistance does not have an income limitation.

Over the coming days, weeks, and months more information about aid for storm recovery will become available. If you have any questions about applying for aid please contact my office at 202-225-5235. We are here to help.

If my office can be of any assistance as we begin recovery efforts please do not hesitate to contact us at 202-225-5235 or at
