House Freedom Caucus: Gaining Momentum

House Conservatives are gaining momentum!

This week a great USA Today article, titled “Freedom Caucus is becoming power broker for House Republicans,” was published—talking about our mission to hold our government officials accountable to our word.  When we started the House Freedom Caucus two years ago, that was our goal--to give a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them.

Now, our message is growing--and every day we are more committed to helping make Washington a place for open, accountable and limited government. We have a lot of work ahead but we're encouraged by the momentum so far.

Speaking with Rep. Jim Jordan and Sen. Mike Lee

This week, I joined my colleagues and friends Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) to talk about where we stand on Obamacare repeal.

I'm grateful for Conservative colleagues like these two men who share in the commitment to repeal this broken law and replace it with a fiscally responsible system that 1) protects the most vulnerable, and 2) allows for access to affordable coverage for all Americans. You will not find two men in Congress who are more devoted to keeping their promises than these two!

Conservative Republicans Double Down on Push to Repeal Obamacare

Speaking of Obamacare, if you’d like more details on our ideas and where we stand, check out this Wall Street Journal article from last week that describes the continued conservative push to keep our commitment and repeal Obamacare in its entirety. It is critically important we deliver on the promises we made to the American people—give people relief from this broken system, and replace it with a market-based solution that allows for better care, more choices, and more affordable coverage.

Continuing to Work on Tax Reform

This week the House Freedom Caucus met with Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, and we're hopeful that we'll have a tax reform bill to vote on by this summer.

This is significant. Higher taxes have been a tough burden for families across America to bear, and we're excited to pass a bill that will simplify our tax code, cut taxes, and allow you--not bureaucrats in DC-- to make more decisions with your own hard-earned money.

Congratulations, Dr. Tom Price

Congratulations to my friend Dr. Tom Price on being confirmed to lead the Department of Health and Human Services this week! I was thrilled to see the news--Dr. Price is truly one of the best. Looking forward to working with him on reforming our broken healthcare system.
