Dear Friend,

On Friday, a factory in Waukegan, Illinois exploded, killing four individuals. Three Kenosha County men, Jeff Cummings, Byron Biehn, and Allen Stevens, and an Illinois man, Daniel Nicklas, lost their lives. My prayers are with their families and friends during this difficult time. As we begin to learn more about that day and the heroic actions taken to save others, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by our first responders. I’ll continue offering support to those affected by this tragedy, and support the work of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board to identify the cause of the disaster.

Helping Wisconsin Farmers

Wisconsin farmers need our help. Wisconsin farmers are struggling. Low milk prices and a limited access to international markets are hurting our farmers. The current trade deal, NAFTA, was implemented over 25 years ago. Farming, technologies, and markets have changed. It’s time for a modern trade deal—it’s time to protect workers and farmers. We must set a vote on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Congrats, Kylee!

Kylee Kappers from Kenosha is our Congressional Art Competition winner! Kylee is a senior at Indian Trail High School and Academy. 18 high school student artists participated in our first annual Artistic Discovery Contest. Her drawing of the Marine Corps War Memorial will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol. We have more than 45,000 veterans in the First District. Kylee’s drawing is a reminder of the sacrifices and service these heroes make.

Racine Pancake Day

Pancake Day has been a local tradition since 1955. On Saturday, I attended Pancake Day at Festival Hall. Great food and company!

Saturday: Ascension All Saints Hospital Offering Free Medical Services for Community

This is a great event to attend. We’re fortunate to have the Ascension All Saints Medical Mission at Home supporting those in need in Racine. I urge those who need care to take advantage of this opportunity. At the federal level, I’m working to address our broken health care system. We must make health care accessible and affordable for families.

On Wisconsin,
