This week, I voted for the VA Accountability Act.  Almost 250,000 Arkansas veterans trust the public servants at the Veterans Administration to provide the benefits they earned while bravely serving our country. I know that when the public’s trust is betrayed, real people get hurt. The VA Accountability Act holds public servants accountable for the quality of their work and allows the VA to remove or punish employees based on poor performance or misconduct. Through measures such as these, we can ensure that our veterans receive the care they deserve.

Before leaving for Hot Springs on Thursday (July 30), I spoke with students participating in the NRA Youth Summit in Washington.

I spent some time Tuesday (July 28) with three-time World Duck Calling Champion Shelby Free of Stuttgart.

This week, I was awarded the Policy Maker 2015 Award from the Association of Career and Technical Education at its annual meeting in Hot Springs. I want to thank the ACTE for this award and I will continue my support of career and technical education in Arkansas and across the nation.

Please forward this to your friends and family. And if you are receiving this as a forward, please be sure to sign up to receive my newsletter each week by clicking here.

Thank you for allowing me to serve the citizens of the Fourth District.
