News from Representative Tom Emmer

Dear Friend,

My job allows me to meet with many hardworking people and amazing companies, and this week was no exception. I spent the week working in Minnesota and met with many great groups including the Monticello Workforce Center and the St. Cloud Federal Credit Union, and toured the CentraCare Dialysis Facility, the St. Cloud Work Force Center and the GNP Company Facility.

I also addressed students from St. Johns University and the College of St. Bens at the McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civic Engagement. This engaged group of students had the opportunity to ask me a number of questions regarding my experience in Congress and my position on various topics.

Manufacturing Mania

This week had a theme of manufacturing as we marked Minnesota’s Manufacturing week following last week’s National Manufacturing Day. So, my staff and I decided to commemorate this vital industry by meeting with different manufacturing companies throughout the month of October.

Manufacturing is a crucial industry to Minnesota’s economy and work force, so in our great state, every day is Manufacturing Day! If you missed the speech I gave two weeks ago discussing the importance of manufacturing to Minnesota’s economy, click here.

Sherburne County Town Hall

Another thing to check off the agenda this week was the Sherburne County Town Hall. This town hall marked the eleventh town hall I have hosted this year and it certainly will not be the last. I strongly believe that town halls are one of the most important aspects of my job. I was elected by the people of Minnesota’s Sixth District and therefore must remain accessible and accountable to those individuals.  I want to thank those who attended this past Tuesday and stay tuned for the announcement of my Wright County town hall next week! Minnesota’s Natural Beauty

Last week, my office launched a photo competition to promote Minnesota’s natural beauty. I invite my constituents to send photos portraying the beauty of Minnesota’s Sixth District to I will choose the winning photo which will then be used as the cover photo for both my Facebook and Twitter. A couple of reminders for this competition:

  1. The photos submitted must be submitted by the photographer who took the photo
  2. The photos must be high quality
  3. The photos must be of Minnesota’s 6th district

That is all for now. I hope you and your loved ones have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
