Let's Vote on a Budget

Where is the proposed budget plan? Article I of the Constitution gives Congress the primary responsibility of creating spending priorities for the nation. It is the job of Congress to manage federal spending, but sadly, it is a job Congress has neglected. The president submitted a budget four weeks ago. Now, Congress must fulfill its obligation to govern. It's irresponsible to not allow a vote on a budget.

Milton High School

I visited with Milton High School AP Government students last week. Along with their teacher, Mr. Crofts, we had a great discussion on immigration, health care, and education issues. It's critical we create good paying jobs and prepare students for tomorrow's jobs. On the Financial Services Committee, I'm working to address the student loan crisis. We must ensure everyone can achieve the American dream.

#BeThere for Veterans

Learn how you can #BeThere for veterans HERE

There are more than 20 million veterans in the United States and more than 45,000 veterans living in Southeast Wisconsin. I'm committed to supporting them and their families through casework and federal policy. We all have a role to play in preventing suicide among service members and veterans in our community. We need to Be There for our veterans. That's why I am taking part in the Department of Veterans Affairs #BeThere campaign.

Reminder: We are seeking a Wounded Warrior Fellow to help Southeast Wisconsin veterans, service members, and their families receive the benefits and care they deserve. Visit my website for more information on how to apply.

ICYMI: My First Three Months in Office

I sat down with Spectrum News 1 Wisconsin to discuss my first three months in Congress. Click above to watch my interview.

After my first three months in Washington, I've learned that by cutting through the dysfunction, focusing on solutions, and listening to you, I can achieve results for Southeast Wisconsin. I held six in-person listening sessions and two telephone town halls within my first three months.

If I can ever be of assistance or you want to share your opinion, please do not hesitate to reach out by calling my office or visiting my website: You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram, and like my Facebook page.
