Happy New Year!

Last week, I was sworn into office to begin my second term. I am grateful for the honor of representing Arizona’s Fifth District for another two years. Even in the minority, I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for Arizona’s benefit.

Thank You, Law Enforcement

On Wednesday, we celebrated National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Thank you to the officers of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, City of Mesa Police Department, Chandler Police Department, and Gilbert Police Department, who all work around the clock to protect our liberties.

Pay Our Protectors

This week, I introduced the Pay Our Protectors Act to provide pay for federal employees tasked with securing our border and deterring illegal immigration during this government shutdown. The people defending our nation should never be used as pawns for the Democrats to exploit their political agendas. Read my press release for the bill introduction.

What’s the BIGGS Idea?

I’ve known Arizona Department of Public Safety Director Frank Milstead for years, and I was honored that he would take some time this week to join me on my podcast. Thank you, Director Milstead, for your years of faithful service to our state – and thank you to your men and women for their service. Click this link or the logo to listen to the latest episode.

Build the Wall

Although Republicans and President Trump are working hard to find a solution to end this government shutdown, this shutdown fight is a fight worth having because building the border wall is so central to national security and the protection of American lives. I stand with these requests for increased funding for border security. Watch my interview today on Fox News for more of my thoughts.

Thank You, Mayor Tibshraeny

Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny just completed his seventh term at the helm of the city. Chandler will miss his leadership, and I was honored to work with him for the benefit of our constituents. This week, I recognized his distinguished career on the House floor.

Co-Chairing the Border Caucus

I am honored to join Congressman Brian Babin in co-chairing the Border Security Caucus for the 116th Congress. As a member of a border state, I see first-hand the necessities of securing the border and giving our Border Patrol agents the resources they deserve. Border security is a national security issue, and it must not be delayed any longer; there are far too many miles of border lands left open. I look forward to working with Congressman Babin and other members of the caucus to accomplish this mission.

Congratulations, Supervisors Chucri and Gates
