News from Representative Sánchez

Dear Friend,

Last week, as the 116th Congress convened, the House of Representatives passed legislation to end a partial government shutdown instigated by President Trump. I proudly joined my colleagues in voting to reopen the government. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for the Senate to take up this bill that they’ve already supported in the past.

While I continue working with my colleagues to ensure that the government is fully funded, it's clear that a wasteful border wall is not the answer. We need comprehensive immigration reform along with effective border security to keep our nation safe.

Instead of putting taxpayers on the hook for billions of dollars for an ineffective border wall, I believe that money could be put to better use by investing in our future. This Congress, I will continue fighting to make health care more affordable, rebuild and modernize our infrastructure, and deliver results for the hardworking women and men in our community.

Your thoughts on how I can best do so are always appreciated. I encourage you to share your perspective by contacting my office via email or by connecting with me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Sincerely,

Linda T. Sánchez
Member of Congress

I am a proud original co-sponsor of this sweeping package of reforms to put power back in the hands of the American people.

Meeting with the Gateway Cities Council of Governments

Recently, I met with two of the Gateway Cities Council of Government Board of Directors to receive an update on the issues impacting our region. I am honored to have terrific local partners like Whittier Councilmember Fernando Dutra and Lakewood Councilmember Diane DuBois working together to advocate for our communities.
