News from Representative Sánchez

Dear Friend,

With few days remaining in the 115th Congress, I want to update you on some of my accomplishments over these past two years and reaffirm my commitment to working across the aisle to advance policies that benefit our community. Here are a few of my achievements:

  • Passed three bills that became law.
    • ACCESS Act – Reinstated year-round Pell grants for college students.
    • Improving Access to Mental Health Services Act – Increased community access to National Health Service Corps mental health professionals to fight opioid epidemic.
    • BEST Act – Directed a Department of Health and Human Services report on treatment and prevention of substance use disorders.
  • Hosted more than 150 community outreach events.
  • Advocated on behalf of more than 880 members of our community by helping them navigate federal agencies.
  • Sent more than 93,000 letters to you and your neighbors.
  • Sponsored 333 pieces of legislation that help working families get ahead.

When the 116th Congress is sworn in next month, I will continue fighting for policies that improve the lives of the men and women that I have the honor of serving. Please do not hesitate to reach out and let me know what issues you would like me to focus on addressing next year. I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Linda T. Sánchez
Member of Congress
