Happy Friday –

It’s that time of the week once again. I’m wrapping up my work in D.C. and preparing to head home to Arizona’s Fifth District for a couple of days. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve our district, but I can’t wait to come home – especially for some warmer weather.

Commemorating the American-Israeli Alliance

This week, I led a House resolution, cosponsored by 42 members, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. See the press release with quotes from many of the members who signed onto this resolution.

I also wrote an op-ed, published in the Times of Israel, to celebrate the spirit of the anniversary. Click this link to read.

This milestone signifies our commitment to our ally. I thank my many colleagues who joined me in this resolution.

Listen - New Podcast Episode

I was pleased to interview the Founding Editor of the Times of Israel, David Horovitz, for the podcast this week. David had some terrific insight into the American-Israeli alliance, as well as the political and geographical realities facing Israel at this time. In Memory of President George H.W. Bush

This week, our nation mourned the loss of our 41st President, George H.W. Bush. Earlier in the week, President Bush was laid in state under the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol, where I had the opportunity to pay my respects to this man.

Listening to Mr. Comey

Before James Comey’s deposition before the House Judiciary Committee today, I wrote an op-ed for Fox News on the importance of his appearance. He is the heart of the anti-Trump, Mueller investigation, and Congress deserves answers to the questions we have for him. Read the piece here.

Thank You, Chairman Smith

I’ve had the honor of serving with House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology Chairman Lamar Smith during the 115th Congress. He is retiring after this year, and his presence in this body will be dearly missed. I attended the unveiling of his portrait earlier in the week.

Happy Hanukkah

To all celebrating this week in Arizona’s Fifth District, Happy Hanukkah! I was privileged to join many in the East Valley on Monday night to celebrate the significance of this week.

Thank You for Your Service

It was an honor to help send off the U.S. Army Reserve’s 98th Expeditionary Signal Battalion on Sunday. I enjoyed meeting our country’s brave men and women. Thank you for your service! We are praying for your safe return.

Merry Christmas from the U.S. Capitol

The Capitol Christmas tree was lit last night. I attended the short tree-lighting ceremony with other Members of Congress and our families.
