District Update |July 2, 2019

Dear Friend,

I hope you and your family had a safe and relaxing Fourth of July Holiday weekend celebrating our nation's independence. I would like to update you on the different constituent services our office provides for residents in Arizona's 6th Congressional District.

Constituent Services

My offices provide a range of services for constituents to use. If you have not contacted our offices before, I welcome you to do so. For your convenience, I have listed some of our services below. For additional information, please go to my website or call (480) 946-2411 to reach my Scottsdale Office, or (202) 225-2190 to reach my Washington, D.C. office.

Federal Casework Assistance

My Scottsdale office casework team is ready and available to assist constituents with federal agencies. We help constituents communicate issues including:

  • Tracking a misdirected federal benefit payment
  • Assisting with Social Security, Veterans, Education, Immigration and other federal benefits
  • Status checks of federal administrative decisions

U.S. Military Service Academy Nominations

I have the distinct privilege as a Member of Congress to nominate students for scholarships to attend a military service academy. U.S. Service Academies provide college-aged students the opportunity to immerse themselves into a 4-year program based on rigorous military training, academics, and personal challenges that will shape them into a member of the United States Armed Forces.

A nomination from your Member of Congress is required for each academy, except the U.S. Coast Guard. To apply, visit our website and if you have additional questions about the process feel welcome to contact our Scottsdale office at (480) 946-2411.

Congressional App Challenge

Each year, students from across the United States submit their original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge and have their work displayed in the U.S. Capitol. This competition services as an opportunity to engage students in STEM and computer science through creating their own apps.

Applications for students are open and close on November 1st. If you are interested or know someone interested in submitting an app for the challenge, be sure to check out the Congressional App Challenge website for more information.

United States Capitol and White House Tour Tickets

If you are planning a trip to Washington, D.C., please be sure to let our office know. Our office can provide tours from staff in our office for the U.S. Capitol, and can help constituents submitting tour requests for the White House.

All tickets are provided to constituents on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to the large numbers of visitors, be sure to request tickets as early as possible to maximize your chances for both the White House and U.S. Capitol tours.

Ordering U.S. Flags

If you are interested in purchasing a United States flag and having it flown over the U.S. Capitol, contact our office! All flag purchases include a dedication message, which can be customized for the recipient.

If you have any further questions about the constituent services our offices provide, give us a call! Thank you for reading my weekly e-newsletter, I look forward to communicating with you again.
