Happy Friday -

What a week it has been - and it's not even over. I'm enjoying my time in Arizona, spending time with family, friends, and constituents. We truly live in the greatest district in the greatest country in the world. I always keep that thought at the forefront of my mind as I strive to serve you to the best of my abilities. Here's a congressional update for this week...

Fix the Phoenix VA

This week, I introduced the Phoenix VA Congressional Oversight Act to finally transform one of the most-poorly run VA hospitals in the nation. This legislation helps the Arizona congressional delegation address some of the challenges that are impeding progress at the Phoenix VA. Our veterans deserve the high-quality service they were promised, and I’m tired of the inadequate results we’ve seen thus far. Read more about my efforts here.

Confirm Judge Kavanaugh

Today, the U.S. Senate voted to advance the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court, setting up a final vote tomorrow (Saturday). I firmly believe that Judge Kavanaugh has the integrity and qualifications to serve on the highest court in the land. Please keep our Senators in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to cast their votes tomorrow.

New Podcast Episode

Given the brutal confirmation fight over the past couple months, I was especially excited to interview Andrew McCarthy, a National Review Contributing Editor and one of the leading voices of reason throughout this process. Guardian of Small Business

Last week, the National Federation of Independent Business gave me the 'Guardian of Small Business' award for my pro-small business record in the 115th Congress. I am grateful to have voted to decrease regulations and taxes to help small businesses in my district - and across the nation - grow and succeed in this thriving economy.

Out in the District

Thank you to Fellowship Square-Mesa for recently hosting me for a tour and town hall. I was excited to meet the residents and talk about the issues important to them. It’s important to travel around this district when Congress is not in session, and I appreciate the feedback from everyone I interact with.

Continued Economic Success

Lots of news today, but I didn't want to miss the early morning report of September's unbelievable unemployment numbers - the lowest these figures have been since 1969. Our pro-growth policies at the federal level are paying dividends around the nation, allowing countless Americans to reap the rewards for themselves, their families and their businesses. We're working to continue the momentum with more regulatory overhauls and Tax Reform 2.0 - stay tuned!

Legislative Update

Great news - four bills in our Endangered Species Act modernization package recently passed the House Committee on Natural Resources! I thank Chairman Rob Bishop and Chairman Paul Gosar for their leadership in moving the Western Caucus ESA modernization package forward. This package is critical for the west and will help millions of Americans around the country by protecting local interests – not special interests. I'm hopeful that my bill, the List Act and the rest of the bills in the package will soon be considered by and pass the committee.
