We made it to the August recess!

I'm looking forward to being back in Arizona's Fifth Congressional District for the next month. Being away from my home, family, and constituents takes a toll on mind and body, and I know I'll be refreshed with my familiar surroundings. We have a lot planned over the next month. I'll be connecting with many constituents and businesses over the next several weeks.

Protect the Second Amendment

This week's podcast features Kyle Kashuv, a high school senior from Florida. Kyle has become a phenomenal - and outspoken - proponent of Americans' Second Amendment rights. He has a bright future ahead of him, and I was honored to interview him for our latest episode. Click this link or the logo above to listen to the episode.

Comprehensive, High-Quality, Life-Affirming Medical Care for All Women

This week, I introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives to recognize the importance of access to comprehensive, high-quality, life-affirming medical care for women of all ages. Read my statement to learn more.

Congress Backs Our Vets

The House didn't leave town before we passed nine veterans-related bills. The job's not done, but we are working hard to give our veterans the care and attention they were promised.

Repeal the Medical Device Tax

Also this week, the House passed the Protect Medical Innovation Act to repeal Obamacare's 2.3% Medical Device Tax. This action will assist small start-up firms and large manufacturers alike. I voted to repeal the Medical Device Tax.

Science Bill Passes Committee

On Tuesday, my bill, the Improving Science in Chemical Assessments Act, passed the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee. This legislation ensures that chemical assessments conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency will advance the agency’s core mission of protecting human health and the environment. I'm working hard to ensure that this bill receives a floor vote in the near future.

Happy 100th Birthday

On Wednesday, a constituent of mine, Mr. Robert Peterson, a Navy World War II veteran, celebrated his 100th birthday! I’m thrilled to report that Mr. Peterson still drives, is sharp as a tack, and will most likely beat you in a game of poker. What a life he has lived - and still lives. Here’s to 100 more years, Mr. Peterson!
