Our
Veterans
Out
of
every
state,
Montana
has
the
second-highest
per
capita
number
of
veterans.
About
one
in
ten
have
answered
the
call,
and
their
service
and
sacrifice
will
not
be
forgotten.
They're
our
friends,
family,
coworkers,
and
neighbors.
On
Veterans
Day
and
throughout
Veterans
Month,
which
President
Trump
proclaimed
November,
we
recognized
Montana
veterans
for
their
selfless
service
and
sacrifice.
We
would
not
be
the
nation
we
are,
enjoying
the
freedoms
and
liberties
we
do,
if
not
for
them.
May
we
always
remember
their
sacrifices
and
service.

Celebrating
Montana
Veterans
It
was
an
honor
and
privilege
to
spend
Veterans
Day
thanking
and
serving
our
veterans
across
Montana.
I
took
part
in
a
wonderful
tribute
in
Three
Forks
on
Friday,
followed
by
an
open
house
at
Independence
Hall
in
Billings.
On
Saturday,
I
had
breakfast
with
veterans
in
Dillon,
shared
lunch
with
them
in
Butte,
and
enjoyed
dinner
with
them
in
Livingston.
Along
the
way,
I
talked
with
veterans
about
their
service
and
issues
important
to
them
before
Congress.
Responding
to
Veterans'
Needs
Taking
care
of
our
veterans
who
have
given
so
much
of
themselves
is
one
of
my
top
priorities.
This
year,
the
House
has
passed
several
measures
to
ensure
our
veterans
have
the
resources
they
need.
One
bill
extends
funding
for
a
program
to
ensure
veterans
receive
the
care
they
need
as
Congress
continues
with
VA
reforms.
Another
improves
and
modernizes
the
GI
Bill
to
give
our
service
members
and
veterans
greater
access
to
education
and
job
training.
We
have
also
acted
to
bring
needed
accountability
to
the
VA
as
well
as
to
help
the
VA
recruit
and
retain
the
best
health
care
providers.
If
you're
a
veteran
in
need
of
assistance
from
a
federal
agency,
such
as
the
VA
or
the
Social
Security
Administration,
I
encourage
you
to
contact
me.
I'll
do
everything
I
can
to
resolve
the
issue
for
you.

Taking
Care
of
Today's
Soldiers
and
Tomorrow's
Veterans
In
November,
we
sent
a
message
to
our
service
members
-
your
country
stands
with
you!
The
House
voted
to
give
our
troops
their
largest
raise
in
eight
years
and
to
give
them
the
tools
they
need
to
get
the
job
done
and
come
home.

Honoring
Montana's
Veterans
In
October,
I
launched
the
Montana
Congressional
Veterans
Commendation,
a
tribute
to
recognize
those
who
have
served
honorably
in
uniform
and
in
our
communities.
I
asked
Montanans
to
nominate
a
veteran
for
the
2017
Montana
Congressional
Veteran
Commendation,
and
the
response
from
Montanans
was
overwhelming.
Fourteen
veterans
received
the
2017
Montana
Congressional
Veteran
Commendation.
