Week in Review

Look who was in Washington, D.C. this week! It was so nice to have Olivia with me in the office this week, she is growing up too fast.

The Technology Revolution We Live In

Click the photo above to watch the full speech.

As a continuation of my 5-pillar discussion,  I expanded on the technology revolution that we currently live in to include both healthcare and climate innovation.

During this speech, I brought numerous slides to demonstrate the different types of technology we have available to us. We often have the discussion in Congress of "who gets to pay." Instead of looking at who pays, we need to look at how we reduce costs. I believe there are technology solutions available to help crash the cost of healthcare while increasing efficiency of care.

There are also technology solutions available to improve and monitor our climate. Did you know there is technology that can monitor our community's air quality through a handheld device?

I will continue to use time on the Floor to discuss how we can help our economy grow and pay for promises like Social Security and Medicare. We must indulge ourselves in the technology revolution surrounding us, and how we can add these types of innovation into our system.

During this hearing, the committee was focused on reviewing the President's Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Proposal released this week.

I asked Secretary Mnuchin to explain the differences between how the new tax law has helped grow revenues and our economy's size compared to how Congress's spending has largely contributed to our nation's debt.

ASU Law Students Tour

It was great to be joined by ASU law students visiting D.C. for a Capitol tour. These students are some of our future leaders, and it was a great to spend time with them exploring the Capitol.
