Week in Review

This week, I spent time with constituent groups in Arizona, in both the sun and the snow. It was great to hear from groups about their priorities in the community and how our office can help.

Head Start Program

I had the pleasure of joining students at the Paiute Head Start School. It was great to learn about the partnerships Head Start has developed in our community, how this program has helped parents, and the best part - being able to spend time with these incredibly smart little ones.

Talking Blockchain and Disruptive Technology

It was great to sit down and discuss all of the disruptive technology surrounding our community this week. We are so fortunate in Arizona to already be ahead of many states in the use and acceptance of technology in our community.

We must continue to adapt and use new technology to provide us a breakthrough for  healthcare services and costs. This group asked great questions about privacy, the adoption of these new technologies, and how we help our neighbors adapt to the changes we will experience with new technology.

Tax Filing Assistance

Filing your taxes can be confusing. If you, or someone you know, has questions about their taxes this year, be sure to check out the resources available to you on the IRS website, you may qualify for free tax preparation and assistance.

Congressional Art Competition

Each year, our office welcomes students in Arizona's 6th District to compete in the Annual Congressional Art Competition.

This year, the deadline for submission for the competition is Tuesday, April 2nd between the hours of 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm (Arizona time) at the Scottsdale Artists' School, located at 3720 N. Marshall Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

For more information on rules for students and teachers, and student release forms, please go to my website.

Casework Assistance

If you are in need of assistance with a Federal Agency, please be sure to reach out to our Scottsdale office. Our office assists constituents with communicating issues to federal agencies. Below are a few examples of how my district casework team can assist you:

  • Tracking a misdirected federal benefit payment
  • Assisting with Social Security, Veterans, Education, Immigration, and other federal benefits
  • Military services academy nominations
  • Status checks of federal administrative decisions.

For more information, please be sure to go to my website.

Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve

Did you know about ASU's Deer Valley Petroglyph Preserve? My staff went to check out this site and were very impressed by the work ASU is doing to preserve and educate the community on petroglyphs.

This is truly a hidden gem found right in our district. For more information, check out their website
