FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Some local middle school students got a chance to talk with their Congressman Thursday morning. Representative Bryan Steil visited seventh graders at Forest Park Middle School in Franklin.
Steil met with the students who wrote in and provided written responses to them. Following the small group meeting, Steil joined the entire seventh-grade class for an assembly to take questions from students, "It's great to see people involved, asking questions, giving their suggestions and ideas as to how we can make our country better and when you see it from 7th graders, its really really exciting that they're engaged at the age that they are, so I wanted to come talk to them," said Steil.
Steil won the seat that was held by Janesville Republican and former House Speaker Paul Ryan who chose not to run last fall.
