Public Health – Seattle & King County fully supports the decision by many healthcare organizations in our region to require masking in their facilities to decrease the ongoing risk of COVID-19.
We interviewed AARTH staff and their partner organizations to hear about the ways systemic racism had an impact on vaccination efforts in the Black community and the approaches that community-based organizations took to reach the community. The partnership between AARTH and many other organizations resulted in more than 8000 community members getting vaccinated, many within the Black community.
We’ve put together a checklist for you to make it a little bit easier to track all the current recommendations about keeping kids protected from COVID. We hope it can make the difference between COVID spoiled plans and the summertime fun we all need and deserve.
Based on Public Health’s latest data from Monday, April 25th, our rate of cases now puts King County into the Medium COVID-19 Community Level as defined by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): over 200 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people over a seven-day period.
