Congressman Williams Votes to Build a Stronger America

November 14, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin), who represents Fort Hood, one of the largest United States military installations in the world, and served on the National Defense and Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Committee, voted in favor of H.R. 2810, the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2018, that passed the House today.

"Last year, we made a promise to keep Americans safe by equipping our military with the tools they need to be the most powerful fighting force the world has ever seen. I am proud to have served on the NDAA Conference Committee to create a package that will authorize funding to do just that," said Rep. Roger Williams. "This NDAA will directly impact the armed forces in Central Texas, and around the nation, by giving them a much-deserved pay increase, and strengthening the homeland by ensuring military readiness. This legislation provides the necessary funding and resources that our men and women in uniform need, and I look forward to President Trump signing this bill into law as quickly as possible."
