Congressman Williams Tours La Moderna Facility

October 23, 2018

CLEBURNE, TEXAS – U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R – Austin) today met with La Moderna CEO Jose Carlos Franco and staff to tour their facility. As a small business owner, Rep. Williams was able to discuss legislation and regulations, such as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and Tax Reform 2.0, and the impact it's having on the business and workers.

Interamerican Foods Corporation opened its first facility in the United States in March 2018: the La Moderna plant in Cleburne, Texas. It is the largest pasta manufacturer in Mexico and opened a facility in Texas to achieve their goal of becoming a household name in Mexico and the US.

"Businesses like La Moderna are critical to healthy economic development in the great State of Texas, as well as in the United States," said Rep. Williams. "This facility created hundreds of new jobs for the City of Cleburne and Johnson County, and I enjoyed meeting with the employees who have filled the open positions in the last several months. The reason companies want to do business in Texas is because of our low taxes, prosperous economy, and the friendly folks who live in this community. I am glad La Moderna found their first American home right here in our district, and I look forward to watching them grow."
