Cohen’s Statement on the Release of Donald Trump, Jr.’s Email Chain

[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) released the following statement after Donald Trump, Jr. released an email chain, that he reportedly knew was going to be released by the New York Times, between him and Rob Goldstone about "Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump" and information from the Russian government that "would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to [Donald Trump]":

"Donald Trump, Jr.'s emails provide damning information that shows intent, if not actual collusion with the Russians. It is now clear, after repeated and repeated denials by all members of the Trump team, that the Trump Campaign and Russia were in contact to help Donald Trump defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016. Clearly Special Counsel Robert Mueller will investigate this and more. I fear a Saturday Night Massacre is coming Mr. Mueller's direction."
