Cohen Commemorates the 16th Anniversary of the September 11th Terrorist Attacks

September 11, 2017

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today released the following statement on the 16th anniversary of the deadly terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:

"September 11th is a time for each of us to reflect on the horrific terrorist attacks that occurred 16 years ago today. We also remember the victims who tragically lost their lives, as well as the heroism of first responders who risked their lives on September 11 and the subsequent days, weeks and months at Ground Zero and the Pentagon. Memphians in particular should remember Memphis-native Gary Lasko and keep his family in their thoughts. Gary died in the collapse of the first World Trade Center building. As we continue the fight against terrorism, including Al-Qaeda and ISIS, we must remain ever-vigilant to help ensure that a tragedy like September 11, 2001 is never repeated."
