March 14, 2019

Says “the American people have a right to know”

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) voted for and the House passed a resolution, H. Con. Res. 24, expressing a sense of Congress that the report of Special Counsel Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the 2106 Presidential Election should be made public. The vote was 420 to 0.

Prior to the vote, Congressman Cohen spoke on the House floor in favor of the resolution. See his remarks here.

In his speech, Congressman Cohen said:

"The report needs to be made public. The American people have a right to know…We need to pass this resolution and show the American people that Congress is on the side of transparency and of releasing the report and letting the American people – who paid for this report – know the results of it and know what needs to happen to protect our democracy and the rule of law."
