Congressman Cohen Announces Success in Annual Transportation and Housing Spending Measure

July 14, 2020

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today announced that his two report language requests were included in the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Appropriations bill that was approved by the Appropriations Committee today and is being considered by the full House of Representatives later this month. His two report language requests relate to the prioritization of complete street plans and the completion of a rulemaking to improve rear truck trailer guards.

Congressman has long advocated these issues and recently got provisions of both bills passed in the Moving Forward Act.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I'm pleased that these critical measures, important to Memphis as a progressive transportation hub, and to public safety on our highways, have received the attention and prioritization they so richly deserve."
