Congressman Cohen Announces Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that three artistic projects in Memphis will be receiving a total of $35,000 in grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

The Blues City Cultural Center will receive $15,000 to support its program "Sew Much Love: Women Who Have Seen the Rough Side of the Mountain," a series of theatrical productions. Carpenter Art Garden, a non-profit promoting creative activities for children in Binghampton, will receive $10,000 to support a public art project and mural apprenticeship program. The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art will receive $10,000 to support the advertising costs for a marketing campaign celebrating Native American art, culture and history.
