Congressman Cohen Announces $12.1 Million Head Start Grant to Shelby County Board of Education

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Shelby County Board of Education will receive a $12,163,726 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to operate its Head Start programs.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

"I'm pleased to see this funding, which will help young children in our community gain access to the resources they need. Disadvantaged children need early help to prepare for an increasingly competitive world, and Head Start provides a safe place for them to learn and interact during their most formative years."
