Legislative record results in better than perfect score
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a member of the Congressional Animal Protection Caucus and a prime sponsor of two anti-animal cruelty bills in the last Congress, again received a "100+" score from the Humane Society of the United States for his leadership on its issues.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
"I'm proud of my work in protecting animals and grateful for the recognition I've received again this year, especially for work to prohibit horse soring – intentionally inflicting pain on the legs of Tennessee Walking Horses. I am dedicated to continuing this important work."
Congressman Cohen has also received the Humane Champion Award from the Humane Society every year since in 2007, his first year in Congress.
