Paul Davis Restoration is disinfecting emergency vehicles for free in Lancaster County.
First responders lined up Thursday at Park City Center to get the COVID-19 cleaning.
"We are using an EPA-approved product to disinfect inside all vehicles. We do a fogging and then we do a wipe down," said Michael Oster of Paul Davis Restoration.
The company received permission from the mall to set up at the former Sears Auto Center.
About 60 to 70 vehicles, including fire trucks, ambulances and police cars, are expected throughout the day.
"We didn't want to take advantage of a bad situation, so there's no cost to this. I don't know how we could charge a first responder or a nurse or a doctor or anybody that's on the front lines trying to protect us and our families," Oster said.
The Lancaster City Bureau of Fire is among the agencies taking advantage of the cleaning, which could have a life-saving impact.
"We're just taking that extra precautionary step, making sure the vehicles are safe as our first responders respond and help those in need," Chief Scott Little said.
Paul Davis Restoration said it hopes to offer more free coronavirus cleanings soon.
"We don't hear enough of the good stuff. This is a great thing, and I'm just glad I work for a company that was able to do this," Oster said.
