WASHINGTON, DC —Yesterday, Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) was elected by his Republican colleagues to serve as the Sophomore Class Representative to the Republican leadership team. Smucker released this statement following his election:

"I thank my Republican colleagues for their support and for electing me Sophomore Class Representative to the Republican leadership team. I look forward to working with Leader McCarthy, Whip Scalise, and the entire leadership team to advance our agenda. The House Republican Conference is working to move America forward, to promote a robust economic recovery and create jobs, and to help families access and achieve their American Dream," said Smucker.

Smucker was unanimously elected by his colleagues to fulfill the remaining six months of Rep. Paul Mitchell's (MI-10) term, who stepped down from the position.
