State lawmakers are planning some lengthy floor sessions this week as they take up supplemental budget bills.

The Republican House has three bills to debate, starting today with an education bill. The DFL Senate has all of its proposals for spending the $900 million budget surplus in a single bill, which is scheduled for a vote Thursday.

In addition, lawmakers will also find time for some potentially contentious committee hearings this week on Real ID and guns.

Cathy Wurzer spoke with MPR News reporter Tim Pugmire for a preview of the week ahead for lawmakers.
