Youth Soccer Training Facility Approved for Brooklyn Park Industrial Area
The Brooklyn Park City Council approved a new, indoor soccer training facility Monday called Pura Vida Elite Training. It would be located in an industrial area on the 7000 block of Winnetka Avenue North. Pure Vida Elite Training focuses on young athletes, ages 5-9.
“It’s always nice when we get new businesses, especially businesses that can really enhance our city,” said Brooklyn Park Mayor Pro Tem Tonya West-Hafner.
The facility would be for small group training and not for tournaments. According to plans received by the city, the training center would take up 28,000 square feet inside a 142,000-square-foot building. It still needs be outfitted with field turf and special flooring.
Pura Vida Elite Training will be open year-round with main business hours during evenings and weekends.
The Brooklyn Park Planning Commission recommended approval of the project in an earlier meeting.
