(Washington, DC) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding the Saint Cloud Regional Airport a grant for more than one-point-two-million dollars.

Congressman Tom Emmer says the funding will be used for construction of a 16-hundred foot taxiway to provide access to aircraft hangars. Saint Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis said in a statement, "there is demand for private hangars on the airport and this will allow for that development, which will help increase future aeronautical revenue at the airport." The Saint Cloud Regional Airport is reportedly running out of hangar space.
