Kudos to Emmer for town hall meeting

I would like to publicly commend U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer for his continuing commitment to hosting town halls.

While I could not make it to his latest town hall meeting in Sartell, I have been to others, and I appreciate the opportunity to voice my concerns as a citizen.

I am a Democrat, and I disagree with Emmer on many issues. But I respect him. He deserves credit for not wavering in coming to constituents where we live, and at least hearing us, especially at a time when others in his party have so shrunk from their obligations.

Emmer’s commitment dignifies the civil voices among us and keeps the doors of communication with our congressman open.
