National Guard members welcomed home from Afghanistan

A St. Cloud-based National Guard unit celebrated their return home from Afghanistan in a ceremony Saturday.

U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer, among other guard leaders, family and friends, welcomed home 20 members of Bravo Company at the River's Edge Convention Center.

They served nine months, providing air support and moving troops, equipment and supplies. This was the company's third deployment in 10 years. The unit logged 3,000 flight hours on 300 missions, all over Afghanistan. It was also named National Guard Aviation Unit of the Year by the Army Aviation Association of America.
