Mr. Chair, I commend Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larson for their hard work to bring this bipartisan FAA Reauthorization bill to the House floor.
I am very pleased that this bill includes some of my top priorities:
May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. I’m honored to join communities across the country in celebrating the history, immeasurable contributions, and achievements of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman André Carson (IN-07) renewed calls to House Speaker Mike Johnson and his Republican colleagues to take immediate bipartisan action to fund the Affordable Connectivity Program.
Mr. Chair, I commend Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larson for their hard work to bring this bipartisan FAA Reauthorization bill to the House floor.
I am very pleased that this bill includes some of my top priorities:
Mr. Speaker, I want to make it clear: I have condemned Hamas for their heinous attacks on civilians and call for an immediate release of the Israeli hostages. I continue to call for the safety of all civilians in the Middle East.
HON. ANDRE CARSON
OF INDIANA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Tuesday, January 24, 2017
Mr. CARSON of Indiana. Mr. Speaker, I am introducing the Transition-To-Success Mentoring Act to help local education agencies prepare at-risk students for the transition from middle school to high school.
Mr. Speaker, I am proud, as the longest serving Muslim in Congress, to in- troduce legislation to recognize the com- mencement of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, and wish Muslims around the world a Ramadan Mubarak!
Mr. CARSON. Mr. Speaker, today I rise to acknowledge a fellow Midwesterner and former colleague from the state of Michigan, Bob Carr, on his 80th birthday. Bob has spent a lifetime in public service and education and continues to have a lasting impact on our insti- tution.
May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. I’m honored to join communities across the country in celebrating the history, immeasurable contributions, and achievements of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.
IndyGo buses keep our city moving. That’s why I’ll continue to fight for federal dollars to important public transit projects like the Red Line, Blue Line, and Purple Line.
When I talk to our neighbors, I often hear how the crushing burden of student debt makes it hard for people to build a future for themselves and their families. I am committed to reducing that burden. I’ll always fight to lower costs for families like yours, and I want to provide an update on recent developments.
Democrats’ Investing in America agenda is paying off for thousands of hardworking families.
Thanks to legislation we passed when Democrats last held the majority, middle class Americans are benefitting from cost savings. Unfortunately, partisan politics and in-fighting has created a standstill in Congress this year.
Each year, I fight to bring federal funding directly to Indianapolis organizations making a positive impact on our community. This program, called Community Project Funding, has helped our roads, our public transit, our schools, and our families.
