Coronavirus: New walk-up testing site to open at Deltona Publix

A new walk-up coronavirus testing site will open at the Saxon Crossings Publix in Deltona Thursday.

A free, state-run coronavirustesting site will open Thursday in the parking lot of the Deltona Publix in Saxon Crossings, according to a state press release.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management will operate the testing site at 2100 Saxon Blvd. in partnership with Publix and Quest Diagnostics, the lab processing the tests, according to the release.

The state is providing staffing and personal protective equipment to the site, according to the release.The testing site will be able to conduct up to 100 tests per day and results will be available within five to seven days.

Testing is free and available to anyone over the age of 18, regardless of symptoms, the release stated.

Under the direction of Gov. Ron DeSantis, the state has established more than 15 drive-thru and 17 walk-up testing sites across the state, according to the release. To date, more than 230,000 individuals have been tested at these sites.
