Larson Statement on Senate Vote to Not Remove Trump

February 5, 2020

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the Senate voted not remove President Trump from office.

"Sadly, the American people never got to hear from the key witness in the impeachment proceedings. John Bolton volunteered to come forward and testify before the Senate. He had direct knowledge of everything that transpired. The Senate chose instead not to hear from witnesses, which is unprecedented in any trial. While many Republicans admitted what the President did was wrong, they chose to vote not guilty. There comes a time when you must put the country ahead of politics. The Senate failed to do that today," said Larson.
