Twelve Arkansas airports will receive a combined $3 million in federal funding to support airport infrastructure improvements, members of the state congressional delegation announced Friday.
U.S. Sens. John Boozman and Tom Cotton along with U.S. Reps. Rick Crawford and Bruce Westerman, all Republicans, said in a joint statement that more than $3 million from the Department of Transportation will go to facility upgrades and expansions.
J. Lynn Helms Sevier County Airport in De Queen will receive the largest amount — $870,000 — to construct a taxiway and install taxiway lighting.
Other airports receiving funding include Almyra Municipal Airport, Blytheville Municipal Airport, Carlisle Municipal Airport, Danville Municipal Airport, Hope Municipal Airport, Jonesboro Municipal Airport, Lake Village Municipal Airport, Melbourne Municipal/John E.
